I have began to construct more than one list for the Android
Makers Society. Of course, the first defined list was of the
members with links to their web site or an email address. Then I
got the bright fuzzy idea to have the members submit an
introductory paragraph. Recently, I asked for an identified area
of expertise and their location as a resource to help each other
solve problems or accomplish other goals.
A geographic list is on the agenda to be made for this page.
The only location I have as of a.m. March 27, 1999, is mine, and
I am not certain where I am at times.
A structured expertise list is probably the most helpful
list. Initially, I expect this list to be in process order:
That is, by the Steps where certain areas and skills come into
focus; e.g. engineering before design, design before CAD
drafting, drafting before tool and die making, etc. However,
looking up for a specialty is most likely to be done
alphabetically.
The order to this list is by longevity; the oldest at the
bottom. That is why newer members are closer to the top of the
list with the redline.

Ron Leblanc's Cybotix web site has a lot of great material
and links. "I have always had a dream to build a life like
android. Through my web site you can follow my work as I
progress through the construction of R.A.L.F. [Robotic
Artificial Life Form] You will also find some of my
thinking on the human brain, and how it works."
*
John's web site and email address. "My android specialty is
programming, but I am currently doing all the design and
parts production too. I would like to concentrate on the
design improvements and get other people to help with
soldering and making sculptures of the improved parts. I
can assist with or do the moldmaking. I currently do not
have a company started." Expertise: Programming.

David Mitchell. LOCATION: Australia.
*
Montgomery Tidwell's email address.
*
Scott Kraus' email. "I am 25, work as a network support
engineer for Cable & Wireless, USA (owners of 40% of the
U.S. internet backbone). I am a C programmer, UNIX system
administrator and also have amateur radio experience.
Outside of the tech industry, I scuba dive, fly light
aircraft (not far from getting my private pilot's license),
and whatever else inspires me at the time."

Dave Everett's Domestic Droids Website is more in tune with
robotics. His has domestic utility robots; lawn mowers,
vacuum cleaners, etc.; the stuff that has a real potential
to do work. His work can be related because of the
artificial intelligence necessary to do such work. The site
uses Frames. Dave does have plans for an android site.

Herb Montes' site is Android Workshop. Herb has worked as a
cartoonist and technical artist. His work in robotics came
about from his interest in science fiction and animation.
He has taken his skills in technical design and mechanical
engineering to realize his dream to create a technological
marvel to last the ages. He believes that androids are the next evolutionary step for mankind." Expertise: Technical
art and design and mechanical engineering.

Steven Grimm's e-mail. "I am the founder of Biobotics which
is a research and development, privately run venture. I've
been building some form of robot for about twenty years,
with my real inspiration going back to the first Star Wars
movie. Before that, I've been involved in electronics in
one way or another including radio and stereo repair tech,
electronic module designer for music synthesizers and
co-founder of Code-3 Security Systems ... not to mention
hundreds of "small inventions" I've come up with. I would
consider hardware sensor interfacing an expertise as I would
Neural network design and software writing. I've developed
a particular system called the Hybrid-G network as well as a
software architecture that I call R.E.A.L. programming ...
reverse engineered alternate life. I'm a "weekend"
musician, playing lead guitar in a power trio, hard rock and
blues band..." Expertise: Hardware sensor interfacing,
Neural network design, and software writing. LOCATION:
Cincinnati, Ohio 45150.

Of course, as founder, I, Elaine Hatfield, need be listed at
the bottom. It is consistent for a foundation to be under
those who may build upon it, to go beyond my achievements.
This work to be a foundation for many models of wonderful
androids. Although my B.S. double in Business
Administration - Management - and Computer Information
Systems may not directly apply toward qualification, it does
follow technical avionics work in the Air Force. Since
university, I have self taught and devised and written
geotechnical computing programs and procedures. During
development of the androtic taxonomy, I studied some
anatomy, human factors, forensic reconstruction, and some of
other related disciplines. So, I am an imagineer.
Expertise: Hatfield Type Android Taxonomy, Engineering, and
Design. LOCATION: North Central Washington State.
