Here are the few specimen entries for the Android Makers
Encyclopedia "V" topics:
v An anthropometric point of the face used by Farkas to describe
the geometry. This is the appears to be the very top of the
head, measured height of a person. (See Farkas' Figure
XIII-5.)
The coordinates of this point is; since the exact functions
are not determined as of :
[0, mm, fnZ(v)]
WHERE:
X=0 because of the centerline function or definition.
fnY=mm because the top of the head is at the desired body overall
height.
fnZ(v) is a function using certain factors, among them being head
depth calculations, measurements, or other determinations.
The exact expression is undetermined as of .
Since it is a tangent point, the tolerance could be quite
liberal as compared to other points or functions.
However, it is estimated and assumed that half of the
head length ( g - op ) measurement is workable. If the head
length can not be measured, it can be estimated using algebraic manipulations with the known or available measurements
and the cephalic ratios.
Vastus Internus; of the outermost muscles and fascia of the middle layer of human muscles for androids [Gray, p. 422], with
the "externus," form the vasti. This is above the knee and
inside of the lower thigh. The action of this muscle draws
the patella inward and upward. This seems to be a relatively large muscle for the stated purpose.
VERMILLION OF THE LIPS
This seems to be the logical place for the discourse about
your android's lips. The lips do not have a requirement to be
the color vermillion; red; but if you make a feminine android,
you certainly should consider putting in more of the appropriate
color or hue than for a masculine android. Suggest using makeup
for stage or evening purposes so that a "dolldroid" can be
"stunning" for those events and "natural" for most of her daily
activities. Ageing makes the lips appear near the same color as
the remainder of the skin.
There is a reason that thisSee footnote 1 appearance affectation may be
a topic before the final layer. The "vermillion of the lips" is
skin without the epidermis. Therefore, making the lips is complete before the final layer of skin is applied; the lips are
merely masked to prevent the application of the final skin layer.
Vomer (a flat bone in the skull) does not have a direct equivalent in androtic construction. See Gray's page 95 for more
details of human anatomy. The January 8, 1994, issue of
Science News had an interesting article about a process that
may make small sensors. Someday, a gang of these may be
installed where a human's vomer is to provide a sense of
smell.
