I use three different browsers on my machines plus I may use other's
machines, or you may need a place to start to do a search. This structured
list and Alphabetical list will allow access to favorite pages and links
from wherever I may wander. Also, this is only one source to maintain for
The Android Maker:
Structured List:
*
See the other android makers in the Android Makers Society list.
*
Computer Hardware and Software-General is more universal; that is,
special purpose hardware or software is more incidental than by
design.
*
Search Engines.
*
Publications.
*
Assorted links.
*
Finally, Links to what I require for escape from the rat-race ... the
rats have won.
The Structured list follow...
STRUCTURED LIST
There is no particular order to this list yet. Perhaps new members should
be at the top of the list with the redline.
*
Herb Montes.
*
Steven Grimm.
The order of this list is from commercial products through services to
internet-based information. For common computer software product
information and support...
*
Welcome to 3D Construction Company for a photogrametry (use a series
of photographs to generate a 3-D model) product
.
*
ViaGrafix; ViaGrafix supports DesignCAD (formerly American Small
Business Computers).
*
Want to "bare hand" a web page? Check out World Wide Web FAQ--Authoring HTML for a primer.
*
Conversely, if you are comfortable with WordPerfect and do not mind
that Wp2Html is not a WYSIWYG page editor, check out the Home
Page of the same tool I use.
It makes sense to have a listing of favorite search engines near the top of
this list. Sometimes search engines are a help.
*
The AltaVista: Main page in text mode is a good place to begin a
specific search by key words.
As suggested by Lipschutz, Robert P., "Smart Searching," Mobile Computing,
vol.8, no.4, April 1997, pg.43.:
*
InfoSeek has a way of doing a structured search; that is, following
and refining topics.
*
And of course, Yahoo! is a favorite index.
Some of these may be copied from my Home page...
*
Stub.
Magazines I try to read that are not in previous categories...
*
Byte; the grand daddy of computer magazines. Long may they publish.
*
CGW, Computer Graphics World specializes in...you guessed it ...
computer graphics. 3D Design deals with a sub-specialty of
graphics. These sites may have information helping android
modeling.
Finally, at the end of a busy day, I need an escape. In general, Sci-Fi/Fantasy is the most effective. Some may believe this site to be fantasy...
*
See The Best of Television Science Fiction.
*
Babylon 5 is top-notch science fiction.
Listing suppliers or vendors on this list does not constitute an
endorsement ... especially since my android is still in her most early
stages of development.
