Spiritual Biblical Beliefs:

You can not know what the Word of God says if you do not have a copy in your language or one that you understand fully. Although English is my only language, it is not conformable with the verbiage of the King James Version (KJV) which was antiquated before the first ink dried. I get "language not available" errors reading the KJV even though it is still inspirational. That is why I have selected the Today's English Version (TEV) for doctrine as published by the American Bible Society. Many "mysteries" and "inconsistencies" clear themselves when the source is in a known language.

In near Plan of Salvation order...

*          God made humans and was pleased. .Genesis 1:26-31.

*          Mankind "blew it." .Genesis 3.

*          Humans have the propensity, in spite of their best efforts, to be unGodly. .

*          This unGodliness is the sinful human nature. .Romans 3:22-23.

*          God hates sin. .

*          And yet he provided a Redeemer. .

*          Yeshua, commonly called Jesus, is the one who was prophesied in the Old Testament to pay the price of redemption for humans. He did. .

The acceptance of His Gift of Salvation is the only way to enter Heaven. Otherwise is permanent destruction for there are TWO judgements to come: The Great White Throne Judgment of condemnation and the mercy seat where the Lord dispenses his reward to the redeemed.

Other Biblical beliefs:

*          God's Word is true. It is also easily perverted by the wicked.

*          It is not possible to love the Lord and hate the people he came through.
A Jew hating "Christian" is an intersection of mutually exclusive concepts. Therefore, someone with this belief either does not hate Israel; which people usually know what they hate; OR is not a Christian. If you hate Israel or anything Jewish and think that you are a Christian, then you had better examine the authority that convinced you. Claiming to be "christian" while proclaiming ungodly beliefs takes "the Lord's Name in vain." (This does not indict something like: "I wish that [some Israeli or Jew] had not [done or said something].")

*          The LORD GOD is of the masculine gender. There are some who do not want to believe this, but His Word upholds this belief. See Genesis 1:4 and throughout the Scriptures. I have not found a passage that reflects God in the feminine. Is there a feminine counterpart? "Mother nature?" His Church? His Bride? ... Selah.

*     See On Pacifism for the truth of that matter.

See Wyatt Archaeological Research (or try this link.) for an interesting relationship between Archaeology and Scripture! Although some may say that Archaeological evidence diminishes faith, it is good to see Biblical Facts verified and vindicated.     Sometimes a parable edifies. Here is one I got or derived from some forgotten source:

Once there was a man in a house on a knoll near a river and the rains began and the waters started to rise. A truck came buy and the driver knocked on the door and offered when the man answered:

"Gather your things and hop aboard. We'll go to safety." To which the man thanked him and said: "Thank you, but go your way. The Lord will provide."

Soon the rising water had cut off access by land and a man in a row boat beached and called out: "Gather what you need, my boat and I will take you to safety." And again the man thanked a stranger and said: "Go your way. The Lord will provide."

In a short time, the water had risen and was flooding the house, but the man's faith was unshaken. Another boat had came and bumped up against the house near a window. The rower called out; "Gather some essentials and we'll get to safety!" with a little more urgency. However, the man replied: "Thank you for your concern, but the Lord will provide." And the second boat went away.

Too soon, the waters rose and became turbulent. The house was washed off its footings and began to drift. The man was forced to the roof and was clinging to the shingles when a helicopter came by and dropped a rope ladder. The crew called out with a horn to be heard over the roar of the rushing water and the rotor wash: "Grab a rung and climb aboard! We'll fly you to safety." And again the man stubbornly refused and held on to his faith: "Thank you, but the Lord will provide!" And getting low on fuel, the helicopter was forced to leave and to save anyone else they could on their way.

Finally, the house drifted to the rapids and began to break up and the man was drowned. In the presence of the Lord, the man asked: "My faith was unshaken, Lord. Why did you not send a rescuer?"

To which the Lord replied: "My child, I sent a truck, two row boats, and a helicopter."

Some recent discussions have caused me to doubt the conviction that scripture supports human beings beginning at conception. For example, Jeremiah 1:5 is one passage (excerpted here from the Today's English Version and I see no difference in meaning from the King James Version. I selected this one first because it is the current passage used on the local chapter's "Right to Life" billboard) frequently used to prove that abortion is akin to infanticide:

"
     The Call of Jeremiah
4    The LORD said to me,
5    "I chose you before I gave you life, and before you were born I selected you to be a prophet to the nations."
"

Clearly this passage supports God's foreknowledge and ordination, but is it proof of a human being's existence before birth? Is this truth limited to the time between Jeremiah's conception and birth? Does it support or prove that I existed before I was born? Is being "born" more important than conceived?

"...And the wages of sin is death." But after taxes, it is just a run-down feeling.
